Summary of the Role’s Main Purpose

To develop existing and create new ways of gathering colleague feedback and turn it into meaningful colleague insights that inform the business of the key issues affecting colleagues, then making recommendations as to actions arising from these insights.

Principle Accountabilities

• To manage the Talkback programme, working with external providers to ensure the mechanics are working effectively, that the survey is fit for purpose
• To analyse the Talkback data and produce a regular Talkback report for use across the business including Operating Board level. It should identify key themes and trends and proposed recommendations.
• Work with the Head of GPTW and other HRDs to interrogate the Talkback data and identify root causes and possible solutions at corporate and local level
• Continue to develop the colleague feedback area of mysainsburys.co.uk (currently colleague panel) so that it gives us a drum beat of colleague engagement insight and to share these findings across the business and identify immediate areas for opportunity and concern
• Continue to drive active membership of colleague panel
• Make the most of the colleague feedback area of the new mysainsburys.co.uk (launching mid Feb) to maintain colleague interest and drive interaction
• Manage the colleague listening activity, including Start the Day groups with the various members of the Operating Board
• Develop a quarterly colleague insight deck to include Talkback insight, other strands of colleague feedback and HRSS data
• Create networks across the company so we have one view of all relevant colleague data – Justin letters, Tell Justins, HRSS, Rightline, etc to feedback into the insight deck (above)
• Design and develop new ways of really showing colleagues that we have listened to their feedback and they have made a difference

Measures of Success

• Talkback “Whe I speak I feel I am listened to even if I don’t always get the answer I want”
• Active membership of colleague panel
• Talkback and colleague panel delivered on time and in budget with no disruption to stores
• Delivery of a quarterly insight deck that paints a clear picture for the reader
• Delivery of robust recommendations as a result of analysis of all colleague voice

 Has the ability to handle large amounts of complex data and information, identifying important trends and being able to simplify messages for others in clear and concise verbal and written communications
 Understands the relevant importance of issues and can balance and make judgements on dealing with the urgent, versus the important.
 Has sound judgement and can balance business / colleagues / external stakeholder needs and develop good ‘ in the round’ solutions using their experience and creativity
 Colleague focussed with an understanding of the principles of colleague engagement
 Effective communicator and networker able to build effective relationships internally and externally
 Numerate
 Influencing and negotiation skills

Salary: £45,000 + benefits
