 DescriptionSummary of the Role’s Main Purpose
To support the Buying & Merchandising teams in the set up and maintenance of DSV’s for online. To manage and improve the key performance indicators for service across the DSV portfolio. Initiate a project to review a half way DSV proposal utilising our distribution network.
Principle Accountabilities
- Prepare relevant business cases in conjunction with the GM finance team to prioritise the order in which we set up new DSV’s
- Lead the project management process for DSV set up for both web forms & EDI.
- Liaise with all relevant parties to ensure the set up of new suppliers happens within budget and on time. These will include the supplier and their IT and sales team, JS IT , Coventry trading team, Online merchandise and finance
- Prepare status updates for the Online Steering Group
- With the GM finance and the call centre team set up tracking for all DSV’s around their delivery proposition and customer service. These should include average lead times, broken promises & customer complaints.
- Implement a process to prioritise the biggest issues and implement actions to resolve working closely with the supply base.
- Track the profitability of DSv suppliers using cost to serve model.
- Working with our logistics team, implement a project to review the potential of using our distribution network with suppliers holding stock at their cost as another option to improve profitability.
- Work with IT team and GXS to simplify DSV set up process.
- Daily/ Weekly Case notes sent to DSV to maintain acceptable performance
- Develop relationship with each DSV so that issue resolution can be made swiftly in favour of the Sainsburys customer
- Driving sales opportunities and expand the proposition – Travel Money, celebration cakes, school uniforms
- Identify opportunities for cost efficiencies and routes to profitability

- Standardise delivery proposition delivery notes and invoices across all DSV’s to Sainsburys brand specifications and to replicate the Sainsburys delivery note
- Maintain DSV info on connect
- Maintain IT issues log and drive resolutions
- Manage the internal DSV stakeholders Buyer legal, merch, customer, finance, PP, IT logistics
- Hold DSV accountable to contractual obligations to ensure Sainsburys differentiated service proposition

- Proportion of range serviced through DSV’s and operational profit increase
- Meet agreed improvements to set up and ongoing DSV process

- Computer literate
- Previous DSV or GM stock management experience
- Systems knowledge especially Excel and MS office
