Summary of the Role’s Main Purpose 

To manage and influence Sainsbury’s Profit Protection Managers (PPM’s), Regional Operations Managers (ROM’s) and Zone Managing Directors (ZMD’s) under the guidance and instruction of the Profit Protection Business Partner to deliver sustained financial improvements relating to Stock loss, Cash Loss, crime and security and process compliance.

Principle Accountabilities
  • Identify the key value destroying issues leading to total loss within the zone and to encourage action from PPM’s, ROM’s and Store Management to ensure longer term solutions in line with the department strategy and Business Plan.
  • To determine, using methods of investigation, what skill expertise is required to deliver sustainable resolution and the resources necessary from the Profit Protection Group. 
  • To provide a coaching and advisory service to key stakeholders on the zone. To support stores in delivering the required processes to deliver shrink and cash loss to budget.
  • To effectively manage crime, security guarding, colleague safety and property security through the Securitas and Romec partner’s using regular reviews and 121’s
  • To coach, develop and performance manage Profit Protection Managers and third party contract suppliers to ensure individuals have the best opportunity to perform to their optimum and deliver the desired result.
  • To encourage a spirit of teamwork, collaboration and communication across the zone, nurturing talent and creating a positive and high performing working environment.
  • To provide a weekend working and on call service to the Profit Protection Group on a scheduled basis.
