About Sainsbury's:

At Sainsbury’s, our mission is to be the most trusted retailer where people love to work and shop. The Marketing team is central to this mission, driving brand awareness, customer engagement, and business growth. We are committed to creating a seamless and enjoyable experience for our customers and colleagues, leveraging cutting-edge tools and platforms.

The role

As an Experience Designer, you will play a key role in reimagining our Marketing Platform, ensuring it aligns with Sainsbury’s design principles and meets the evolving needs of our Marketing community. This hands-on role is perfect for a mid-weight designer experienced in tackling complex problems and working across the full design lifecycle—from discovery to delivery.

You will be part of the Customer and Loyalty Experience Design team, focusing primarily on B2E (Business to Employee) and B2B (Business to Business) initiatives. You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders across the business, utilising your expertise in user experience, accessibility, and interaction design. You will drive the design strategy for the Marketing Platform, ensuring it is intuitive and user-friendly.

What you'll do:

  • Design Strategy: Work with the Product Manager to define and implement the design strategy for the Marketing Platform, ensuring it meets user needs and business goals.
  • Discovery and Research: Conduct user research, discovery workshops, and usability testing to gather insights and identify key pain points.
  • Design Implementation: Develop wireframes and prototypes to visualise and iterate design solutions.
  • Collaboration: Engage with stakeholders across the organisation to share insights, present design concepts, and gather feedback.
  • Agile Working: Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, contributing to the product roadmap and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • User-Centric Design: Leverage user data and feedback to inform design decisions, ensuring the platform remains aligned with user needs.
  • Stakeholder Management: Influence key decisions, advocate for a user-first approach, and facilitate cross-functional sessions.
  • Ownership: Take accountability for the full end-to-end design process, from ideation to delivery, ensuring high-quality outcomes.

What we're looking for:

  • Experience: Proven experience as a UX or Product Designer with a minimum of 3 years in a similar role.
  • Design Skills: Strong design skills, with proficiency in Figma and the ability to work well within a design system.
  • Collaboration: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment, adapting to changing priorities and complexities.
  • Problem-Solving: Experience in solving complex design challenges, with a solid understanding of system and service design.
  • Time Management: Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
  • Advocacy: Passionate about design, with a strong desire to drive positive change and influence ways of working.
  • Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of JavaScript design principles is a plus but not essential.

Support we will provide:

  • Design Culture: A thriving design community with opportunities to share work, receive collaborative feedback, and engage in continuous learning.
  • Standards: A mature design system and set of standards to guide your work.
  • Expertise: Access to research, accessibility, and UX copywriting experts to support your design efforts.

Benefits:

  • Competitive Package: Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Professional Growth: Collaborative and supportive work environment with opportunities for professional development and career advancement.

If you are a passionate and talented Experience Designer eager to make a meaningful impact on our Marketing Platform, we encourage you to apply.
