What you'll do
As a member of the Retail Costs Finance team at Sainsbury's, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Labour function. As a Finance Business Partner, you will interpret management reporting to provide valuable insight, analysis, and commentary to stakeholders, challenging the business as needed. You will be responsible for identifying risks, anomalies, and opportunities, prioritising them, and working with the business to manage them effectively. A key aspect of this role will be ensuring alignment between multiple stakeholders by delivering clear and robust analysis in a timely manner. You will also collaborate with internal teams, such as our data team, to complete analysis and resolve business problems. Additionally, you will work closely with the Retail Reporting and Change team to develop uniformity of reporting and performance evaluation across all Retail channels. As a Qualified Accountant, you will bring strong financial control and commercial acumen to the role, using your Excel and numerical skills to turn data into actionable insights. Your effective communication skills and ability to work autonomously will be vital, as you support the business in making decisions that enhance performance and contribute to Store Operating Profit and EBIT.
Who you are
As a Finance Business Partner within the Retail Costs Finance team at Sainsbury’s, you are a professionally qualified accountant or studying towards a professional qualification with a strong commercial acumen and a track record of delivering strong financial control. Your expertise in turning data into insightful analysis and your ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels make you a valuable asset in supporting the business in making informed decisions that enhance performance. With your self-motivated and detail-oriented approach, you excel in prioritising tasks, solving problems, and maintaining accuracy. Your strong Excel skills and numerical aptitude enable you to provide valuable insights, support strategic initiatives, and drive improved financial performance across Store Operating Profit and EBIT.
We are committed to being a truly inclusive retailer, so you’ll be welcomed whoever you are and wherever you work. Around here, there’s always the chance to try something new - whether that’s as part of an evolving team or somewhere else across the business - and we take development seriously and promise to support you. We also recognise and celebrate colleagues when they go the extra mile and, where possible, offer flexible working. When you join our team, we’ll also offer you an amazing range of benefits. Here are some of them:

This increases to 15% off at Sainsbury’s every Friday and Saturday and 15% off at Argos every pay day. We've also got you covered for your future with our pensions scheme and life cover. You'll also be able to share in our success as you may be eligible for a performance-related bonus of up to 10% of salary, depending on how we perform.
Your wellbeing is important to us too. You'll receive an annual holiday allowance, and you can buy additional holiday. We also offer other benefits that will help your money go further such as season ticket loans, cycle to work scheme, health cash plans, pay advance (where you can access some of your pay before pay day) as well access to a great range of discounts from hundreds of other retailers. And if you ever need it there is also an employee assistance programme.
