The Commercial Finance Team plays a crucial role in both shaping and delivering the strategy at Sainsbury’s. It’s a highly competitive industry that never stands still, and Finance has a key role to play in driving, partnering, and protecting our business. Our focus is on maximising sales, profit, return on investment and cash flow alongside our non-financial objectives.

To deliver “Next Level” Sainsbury’s we’ve been clear on the key activities that will drive progress across our four outcomes of First Choice For Food; Loyalty Everyone Loves; More Argos, More Often; and Save & Invest To Win. These activities are laid out in the 21 deliverables that underpin ‘Next Level’ Sainsbury’s.

In support of this, Sainsbury’s is embarking on a major transformation of every aspect of its Data strategy which will see significant investment in technology and people in the coming years. Whilst we have a wealth of data and pockets of excellence today, we need to: i) Build a new Data & Analytics function that sets the business up for the next 3-5yrs, ii) revitalise our end-to-end process for developing cutting edge data products, iii) enhance our capability on data quality and value based demand management. A new Chief Data Officer (CDO) role has been created and the aim is to recruit a full new leadership team to support delivery of the new strategy and plan. This is an opportunity to get in on Day 1 of an ambitious transformation.

This role is responsible for providing best in class finance support to the Data & Analytics Leadership team.
