What you'll do
As the Digital Marketing Manager - Organic Social at Sainsbury's, you'll be accountable for all of our organic social media content, whether that's produced by our in-house creative agency or by your team of social experts. You will lead the planning and execution of the organic social media programme, overseeing day-to-day management of campaigns, setting and achieving performance goals, and driving innovation in social media activity. Your responsibilities will include developing always-on organic social activities, collaborating with Brand Comms teams on campaign plans, managing the organic social marketing budget, and working with agency partners to execute a clear and innovative social strategy. Additionally, you will be responsible for measuring and analysing the impact of organic social efforts, managing a team to deliver campaign plans, fostering data-driven insights for social effectiveness, and building strong relationships with key social networks and creative agencies. Your role will involve driving social media excellence, fostering cross-team collaboration, and contributing to the growth and success of Sainsbury's digital marketing initiatives.
Who you are
As the Digital Marketing Manager - Organic Social for Sainsbury's, Tu, and Nectar, you'll be experienced in creating content that feels native to organic social, taking on board channel best practice and performance data. Your high level of external awareness and existing relationships across key social networks, combined with your detail-oriented approach and innovative mindset, enable you to drive the development and execution of compelling organic social strategies that align with marketing goals and deliver measurable impact. With a focus on fostering internal collaboration, coaching teams, and building beneficial partner relationships, you play a pivotal role in shaping the organic social media programme and strategy, driving performance, and nurturing a growing team to achieve success in the dynamic and fast-paced digital marketing landscape.
Essential Criteria
- Proven experience managing an organic social team in retail, delivering annual, seasonal, and product campaign plans.
- Experienced in data-driven analysis and insights to improve social effectiveness.
- Experience developing a social reporting cadence to inform internal teams about opportunities and performance insights.
- Experience managing large social media accounts and creating content.
- Strong budget management experience and financial accountability.
- Knowledge of social platform tools (e.g., Sprout) and emerging trends in social media.
