To execute the sourcing and selection strategy for ‘Entry Level’ still wine within the Food Commercial framework. Buying responsibility entry level wine and wine formats. To help deliver the category shared objectives through effective negotiation, supplier management and identification of most cost effective sourcing routes; specifically responsible for sourcing of Bulk wine, expert in value chain analysis and buying support for the Mid Tier & Premium still wine buyers.

What I need to do


• Execute the sourcing and selection strategy for a given range of products
• To negotiate optimum product cost with suppliers using the Value Chain Analysis mindset
• To identify most cost effective sourcing routes into the stores
• To implement Pricing, Promotional & Ranging strategies.
• To specify performance targets for suppliers and assess supplier performance
• To know and understand the relevant retail market and the category performance within that
• To support the development of both category and supplier plans 
• To be the bulk wine sourcing expert for the wine team buying liquid that fulfils the selling strategies across entry, mid and formats tier
• To support the Mid-Tier and Premium Still Wine Buyers in efficient buying practices
• Work closely with the Formats buyer to ensure the buying strategy is aligned with the selling strategy
• Support the mid tier buyer as custodian of value chain analysis ensuring that all own brand products, and branded where possible, are developed within a VCA mindset
