Contract Type: Part Time
Pay: £10.25 per hour increasing to £11 per hour from March
Shifts: Most of our roles work in two shift blocks during the day:
Monday to Sunday 5:30am - 1:30pm & 1:30pm - 10:30pm.
You will have your guaranteed hours every week and there will be opportunities for you to work overtime if you want to.
What you’ll do
Here’s a chance to join us in a brand-new team as we strive for greater heights for our customers. From our Local Fulfilment Centres, we aim to give our customers more choice with same day delivery 7 days a week, so this really puts the customer at the heart of our Fast-Track network.
As a Fast-Track Driver, you’ll be:
loading your own van (with help from our helpful warehouse team) so you know where everything is
delivering up to 25 drops per shift in a set area, with a handy e-Pod guiding you on your journey
driving safely and following our guidelines on when to deliver
It is so much more than just driving; you will be the person delivering smiles right to our customers doors, ready for that special occasion.
What you’ll need
As a Driver you must:
hold a full UK/EU manual driving licence, and you must have held this for at least 12 months (with no more than 6 points on your licence)
be over 18 years old
What you’ll get
Whilst we operate from fulfilment centres, they’re just the right size to hold all our exciting product range, yet small enough for you to feel part of a great team. There will always be a member of our management team to brief and debrief you, and we’re only ever a phone call away when you’re out on the road. We care about our people, and so we limit the number of drops to a reasonable number and offer welcoming facilities when you get back from a day’s driving.
It’s also nice to know that, as part of the Sainsbury’s group, the career possibilities here are unparalleled, meaning that we can help you to drive your development in line with your own aspirations.
In addition to a competitive salary and an exciting working environment, other benefits include:
22 days of paid holiday,
company pension scheme,
10% discount at Sainsbury’s, Argos, and Habitat (after 12 weeks) and lots more things you’ll love
Supportive management and colleague team – we operate like a family which makes coming to work more enjoyable
Free on-site parking
Free tea & coffee on-site
Uniform is provided
A new Sprinter van to drive on every shift – we take care of insurance and fuel
Who we are
We wrote the book (OK, the catalogue) on online shopping and we’ve been the go-to place for anything from toys and technology to must have homeware and seasonal trends for decades. It’s why we’re one of the top three most visited e-commerce websites in the country, offering same day delivery, 7 days a week, through our Fast Track network. Game-changing? You bet.
We know that life is bigger than just your job and, while we can’t always accommodate every flexible working request, we do support?part-time?and job-share roles — so don’t hesitate to ask us how we can work around your availability.
One more thing: Argos is a place for people who are open, kind and dedicated to doing better every day. Diversity and inclusion are key, so you’ll be a role model encouraging all colleagues to be themselves at work while also recognising great performance and cheering on progress.
Here at Sainsbury’s Argos, we’re a proud equal opportunities employer that values diversity at every level of our business. Inclusion and Diversity are fundamental to our culture and values, fostering an innovative, collaborative and fast-paced work environment that means we can build a better future for our colleagues and our customers.
