In a nutshell

To take responsibility for implementing the agreed operating models for each customer on time and to budget to deliver our customers’ requirements.

What I need to do
  • Coordinating cross functional teams to implement new and existing operating models for our customers.  Focus areas will be logistics, supply chain, property, finance / invoicing.
  • To plan the development, validation and effective implementation of the operating model and obtain necessary approval plans.
  • Will cover wholesale & franchise but also other areas such as energy.
  • To identify on a regular basis the issues and risks faced by the projects, identifying the resolution and mitigating action required and by whom, and escalating accordingly.
  • To monitor and report on specific project progress against milestones and identify corrective action where results are falling short of expectation.
  • To ensure that change management effort is planned and executed effectively.
  • Responsible for implementation strategy, day to day management, management of interdependencies, milestones and deliverables.
  • Report progress effectively and concisely to the Senior Implementation Manager, identifying key issues and actions to achieve project targets.
  • Obtain sign off of deliverables at agreed and appropriate levels.
  • Establish a culture of risk awareness and activity manage risks and issues.
  • Evaluate the effect change has on the business, keeping customers and colleagues at the heart of everything we do, holding the management team to account for delivery of their commitment , whilst supporting them in dealing with change.
  • Liaise with all internal stakeholders, to ensure the integrity of the business development vision is delivered.
  • Develop strong internal and customer facing networks.
  • Listen to customer feedback and adapt accordingly to solve problems using network.
  • Deputise for the Senior Implementation Manager by providing strong leadership and influencing skills.
  • Communicate in an inspiring and motivational way, actively listening to external and internal stakeholders, role modelling our values and leading the teams towards our vision.
  • Represent Sainsbury’s at external meetings and with external bodies.
  • Responsible for the delivery of the programme to meet the agreed business requirements within time, cost and quality constraints.
  • To agree and articulate the detailed project objectives, scope and approach with the Head of Business Development.
  • Develop operational processes to support the Business Development team to deliver strong results and a great service for customers.
What I need to know
  • Minimum of 5 years commercial experience with proven track record of delivery against targets.
  • Track record of applying varying project management, tools and techniques with expertise in best practice project management methodologies and approaches.
  • Recognises the importance of the customer through creating opportunities to talk to customers on a wide scale and supporting/enabling decisions to be made based on customer feedback, insights and trends.
  • Enable a team to work collaboratively with a range of people to support the wider business agenda.
  • Accountability and tracking of accounts and budgets.
  • Ability to work in customer facing environments and at a senior level.
