Job Description

Who we are: Nectar360 is a fully integrated loyalty, insights and media services agency, operating the UKs largest loyalty programme, helping some of the UKs biggest brands to build impactful relationships with their customers.

As part of the Sainsbury's MArketig Analytics Team, the role is based within our Nectar Partnerships Analytics team, responsible for delivering market-leading customer insight to our partners on the Nectar Loyalty Programme. We're looking for a passionate customer insight analyst, who is ready to deliver impact in a fast-paced & varied role, giving exposure to the breadth of analytical capabilities across our loyalty coalition business & its range of loyalty partners across multiple industries.

What will you be doing:

  • Working together with internal teams  and key client stakeholders, you’ll be developing & implementing an analysis plan that supports our partners key objectives & demonstrates how our data can add value. At any one point in time, it is expected to have several different analytical pieces of work underway, and you will take an active role in helping prioritise and manage expectations.
  • You’ll take full responsibility for complex analytical projects and support junior members of the team with their deliverables.
  • You’ll take charge of day-to-day analysis and planning, whilst ensuring projects are seen through to completion according to your project plan. You must be able to look beyond the data to find relevant and actionable insights that are useful and interesting to clients.
  • You’ll take a pro-active role in delivering increasing analytical value to Nectar, such as improving process efficiencies and experimenting with new methods and data to enhance analytics.
  • You’ll develop strong relationships with a range of stakeholders. Your network of contacts will prove key to maximising how you add value through insight.
  • You’ll be responsible for making your insight actionable; explaining complex analytics to non-technical audiences and making clear recommendations on how stakeholders should be using the insight you’re providing.

What we would like you to have:

  • To be an experienced user of SQL and ideally R.
  • Previous experience of BI tools (e.g. Tableau or Business Objects) and AWS/Snowflake would be advantageous
  • At least 3 years of experience in working in the field of data analysis and customer insight
  • Proficient user of advanced Excel calculations
  • Prior experience of building propensity models and/ or customer segmentations advantageous
  • Strong interpersonal and team working skills
  • Great communication skills, with the ability to translate data into effective and influential insight

This role will suit you if:

  • You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can quickly change. You’ll need to think on your feet and have the confidence to voice your thoughts and opinions and be prepared to make recommendations on the application of the best analytical techniques.
  • You’re looking to work autonomously in a client-facing environment. You’ll take accountability for your analytical projects and build strong collaborative partnerships with both the Nectar partners and internal teams.
  • You thrive on excellence all the way. You will need to deliver high-quality insight with attention to detail.
