In a nutshell

Play a key role in helping Sainsbury’s exit its wholesale business in a controlled manner, honouring its commitment to customers, and de-commissioning its financial processes

Support the run-off Business Development commercial team to deliver financial reporting and controls for a range of customer accounts

What I need to do

The Business Development team operates a wholesale business with >15 customers (domestic + international). The Business Development Finance Analyst plays a key role in this team by:

Supporting with production and interpretation of financial reporting using Excel

Working closely with the Business Development team to understand the commercial and financial implications of new opportunities

Supporting with ad hoc financial settlements with customers and suppliers, liaising with the Finance Operations team

Working with 3rd parties (e.g. UK/Overseas Customers, Logistics Organisations) to resolve financial matters

Working with the Technical Accounting team to support the period end close

Working with Sainsbury’s Tech team to support with an ongoing automation project

Perform ad hoc analysis in excel to support the commercial team

Helping maintain appropriate financial controls for new and live opportunities

What I will need to know

Part-qualified accountant CIMA/ACCA/ACA

Strong excel skills and highly systems literate to maximise efficiency

Knowledge of the wholesale sector would be an advantage

Knowledge of Oracle Financial would be an advantage
