A little bit about..
“I’m happy getting up in the morning, I’m smiling from the moment I start my shift, to the moment I finish, I just love getting out and having a chinwag with all the customers. My trainees usually leave me at the door as I like to make sure I have a proper catch up with all the people on my delivery route!
“I was a bus driver before I came to Sainsbury’s, and retail was the last thing I thought I’d ever go into but it turns out to be the perfect role for my personality. Getting out and meeting new people, some might be housebound, or ill, or lonely, and helping them in whatever way I can, it brings out all the natural qualities that my mum instilled in me to be kind and caring.
“Mentoring the trainee drivers is something I really enjoy, passing on everything I’ve learnt and seeing them achieve what they want to gives you a really nice feeling.
“I left bus driving for my health as I needed to lose weight, and this job has helped me do that. I remember one day realising the weight I’d lost, as I’m always moving around doing deliveries, and thinking this is great, a job that keeps me smiling all day and looks after my health, what more could I ask for!”
