Sainsburys Tech - Service Lead

We are looking to hire this role with a start date of 30th September onwards. The role will be hybrid/remote from either our London or Coventry offices.

Why join us

Joining Sainsbury's Tech means being at the forefront of technology innovation in the UK's leading multi-channel, multi-brand retailer. As a Service Lead, you'll play a pivotal role in driving the transformation of our technology delivery, ensuring operational excellence for the services within your portfolio. Your contribution will be vital in running and maintaining seamless service provision, collaborating closely with Engineering Teams and stakeholders to meet customer requirements and deliver high-quality solutions. With opportunities to embrace agile methodologies, work with cutting-edge technologies, and navigate the evolving landscape of service management, joining us means being part of a dynamic team that embraces change, fosters collaboration, and offers continuous growth and development in the fast-paced world of technology delivery.

What you'll do

You will play a vital role in the transformation of technology delivery within the organisation. Reporting to an Engineering/Service Manager, you will be responsible for running the technology service provision for a specific area, with a focus on third-party delivery. Your key responsibilities include ensuring operational excellence in the day-to-day running of a narrow portfolio of products, managing incident and problem management, change management, and availability and capacity management. You will collaborate with engineering teams to provide high-quality service provision, contribute to service reviews, and help create service strategies. Additionally, you will support the transition of new solutions, work closely with product teams to meet customer requirements, and actively contribute to risk management activities. To succeed in this role, you must maintain effective relationships, adhere to principles and operating standards, embrace change, and make informed decisions in the absence of clear guidelines. Your understanding of service management, expertise in ITIL, and knowledge of agile, waterfall, and DevOps methodologies will be crucial in ensuring the successful management and maintenance of services.

Who you are

You are a highly skilled professional who plays a central role in the critical transformation of technology delivery for the organisation. You take pride in managing and ensuring operational excellence for a specific portfolio of products within your CTO domain, focusing on third-party delivery. With your deep understanding of service management frameworks and methodologies such as ITIL, Agile, Waterfall, and DevOps, you effectively collaborate with engineering teams to provide high-quality service provision that meets the requirements of both the business stakeholders and the product delivery teams. Your ability to navigate ambiguous situations, make informed decisions, and effectively manage risks contributes to the overall success of the business and its service offerings. With your passion for service and continuous improvement, you actively work towards embedding a service mindset within the organisation and drive the transition to full EZE Product Lifecycle Management.
