We’d all like amazing work to do, and real work/life balance. That’s waiting for you right here. Supply Chain and Logistics are the engine room for getting thousands of products from farms and factories, through the business and to our millions of customers every day. We plan around events from barbecue weekends to Sunday roasts, and who wants oven-ready cauliflower cheese to those who prefer to make it from scratch. Insight and data are everything. But so is judgement — if there’s an issue or ambiguity anywhere, we’re the first to spot it. There’s a big transformation going on. That calls for people who champion change, bring others with them, collaborate and communicate. Because those people can go a very long way.

Why join us:
Joining Sainsbury's as an Operations Systems Support Group (OSSG) Manager means becoming an essential bridge between our technical teams and logistics operations, working collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure the seamless functioning of our depots and systems.

As a pivotal member of our team, you will have the opportunity to make impactful decisions, drive operational efficiencies, and provide innovative solutions for our logistics network.

With a focus on problem-solving, coordination, and communication, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the performance and reliability of our systems, contributing to the overall success of our business while fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.

What you'll do:
You will play a critical role in bridging the gap between technical teams and logistics operational teams, collaborating with 3rd party providers, facilities maintenance teams, and key stakeholders to ensure the seamless operation of our depots and delivery of exceptional service to our customers.

Your responsibilities will encompass providing functional and technical support for logistics operational systems, conducting data analytics to drive informed decision-making, coordinating system outages and maintenance activities, and contributing to the enhancement and development of existing and future systems.

You will need to demonstrate a deep technical understanding of logistics systems, problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to prioritise and address system issues promptly to maintain operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Who you are:
A highly skilled professional with a deep technical understanding of logistics operational systems and applications, combined with the ability to apply this knowledge practically to support the seamless operation of depots and the delivery of exceptional service to customers.

Your expertise in data analytics, problem-solving, and communication enables you to effectively triage system issues, provide solutions, and collaborate with key stakeholders to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.

With a focus on coordination, planning, and decision-making, you play a critical role in maintaining the performance and reliability of logistics systems, ensuring they operate within defined service levels and supporting the implementation of system upgrades and changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across the network.
