Why join us

Joining the Clearance and Returns Team at Argos means becoming part of a dynamic and collaborative environment where you will play a crucial role in maximising margin and minimising returns. As a Clearance Administrator, you will have the opportunity to provide essential support in selling damaged and pristine stock, ensuring efficient recovery and stock management. With a strong emphasis on problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication, you will contribute to the success of our team and the overall business. We value work-life balance and offer flexibility in how, where, and when you work, enabling you to achieve personal and professional fulfilment. By joining us, you will be part of a team dedicated to continuous improvement, enhancing processes, and building strong relationships both internally and externally.

What you'll do

As a Clearance Administrator within our Clearance and Returns Team, your primary responsibility will be to provide administrative support in selling damaged and pristine stock to our trade supplier base, with the aim of maximising recoveries and managing stock holding efficiently. You will play a key role in ensuring that all stock listings are accurately accounted for, tracked, and processed in a timely manner. Additionally, you will be responsible for building stock listings for sale on our auction site, setting starting auction prices to facilitate efficient stock clearance and recovery. You will manage the list of approved Jobbers, ensuring their adherence to our terms and conditions, and handle the tracking and chasing of payments for stock. Furthermore, you will provide reporting on stock levels, sales activity, and invoicing information, liaise with third-party providers and internal teams, and offer support in returns prevention initiatives. Your success will be measured by the maximisation of margin from products sold, reduction in stock holding requiring clearance, accurate and timely reporting, and continuous improvement in processes and internal relationships.

Who you are

The ideal candidate will thrive in a remote setting, demonstrating excellent self-discipline and the ability to work autonomously. They should be comfortable with limited direct interaction and excel in managing their own workload. You are a highly organised and detail-oriented professional with a strong focus on maximising margin from returned, recycled, or clearance products. With your excellent numerical skills and proficiency in Excel, you ensure accurate and efficient processing of stock listings for sale on Argosclearance.co.uk, setting optimal auction prices to clear stock while maximising recovery. Your problem-solving skills and common-sense approach enable you to handle queries, resolve operational issues, and maintain productive relationships with third-party providers and internal teams. Your self-motivation and ability to work independently, coupled with your adaptable nature and commitment to continuous improvement, contribute to the success of our stock clearance initiatives. Additionally, your excellent communication skills and customer service mindset ensure effective internal and external communication.
