What you'll do
You'll play a pivotal role in driving technical design, up-leveling teams, and maintaining high tech standards, while fostering collaborative relationships across various domains to ensure optimal technical decision-making within Sainsbury's tech ecosystem. Your hands-on development skills will be essential as you work alongside multiple teams on strategic projects, contributing to the creation of high-quality, well-designed solutions. Your expertise and mentorship will help engineers improve their productivity, solution quality, and code standards, while also supporting broader knowledge sharing and ensuring reusability of technology and skills across different domains. This role will see you act as a technical backbone, guiding teams, acting as a coach, and helping to recruit and mentor top engineering talent, contributing to the continuous growth and success of the tech team at Sainsbury's.
Who you are
You're a seasoned and dedicated engineer with a wealth of technical expertise and a broad understanding of software engineering tools and practises. Your ability to drive continuous improvement, evaluate risks, and make complex decisions contributes to achieving strategic goals and enhancing technical standards across the organisation. You excel in providing mentorship and guidance to engineering teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation while continuously striving for excellence in software design and implementation. With your adaptability, strong interpersonal skills, and commitment to embracing challenges, you play a pivotal role in shaping the future of technology solutions and driving bold changes within the business.
