What you'll do
As the Senior Business Development Manager at Sainsbury's within the Nectar360 division, your primary responsibility will be to drive significant profit growth through strategic partnerships for the Nectar Coalition programme. You will work alongside the Business Development team to identify opportunities for growth across existing Nectar propositions, develop new long-term partnerships, and create commercial models that bring value to both Nectar and potential partners. Your role will encompass the full partnership development lifecycle, from conducting research and developing propositions to leading partnership conversations and ensuring successful integration processes. Additionally, you will collaborate with various internal teams to support sales progression, build commercial investment models, and maintain governance workstreams across business functions.
Who you are
As a Senior Business Development Manager for Sainsbury's Nectar360, you are an experienced and strategic professional with a proven track record in sales and client services, particularly within the Marketing Services and Data & Insight sectors. Your ability to identify, negotiate, and close commercial deals, coupled with your expertise in CRM, customer loyalty, and data-driven decision-making, enables you to drive significant profit growth through the development of strategic partnerships for the Nectar Coalition programme. With strong stakeholder management skills, market research experience, and a keen analytical mindset, you excel in creating compelling propositions and commercial models that align with partners' business objectives and priorities, contributing to the continued success and growth of the business.
Essential Criteria
- Business Development: background in sales / client services. Identifying, negotiating, and closing commercial deals with external partners
- CRM & Loyalty Experience: understanding of customer loyalty, CRM strategy, and understanding of acquisition and retention strategies
- Senior Stakeholder Management: demonstrated experience collaborating with cross-functional initiatives across internal teams and external stakeholders
- Data-Driven Insight & Decision Making: skilled at using customer, partner, and performance data to inform commercial decisions and influence strategy
- Market research: experience compiling market deep-dives and in-depth research
