Please note, this role can be based out of our Manchester, Holborn or Coventry Store Support Centre & Home. Colleagues go into the office 1 day per week on average.
As a member of the Finance Operations Leadership team, you will manage activity to continually develop the offshore cash team, ensuring alignment to defined ways of operating and the wider business to deliver the success of the outsourced model. You'll deliver value through proactive relationship management across a number of internal teams, with the aim to ensure effective process operations and governance, managing risk and taking actions to sustain strong performance aligned to specific measures of success.

- Lead, manage, motivate, develop and continually improve the cash team, ensuring close alignment to defined ways of operating and the wider business to drive success of the outsourced model
- Indirectly lead and motivate the offshore team of c.7 to deliver required outputs
- Ensure effective process operations and governance through management and approval of:
- Performance measures and service delivery from Accenture
- Process compliance levels from Sainsburys
- Resource plans creation for approval
- Process changes, driven either internally or by Accenture
- Drive process efficiency improvements, compliance improvements and stakeholder training, working with Accenture to prioritise and deliver change
- Financial Plans Forecasts or Budgets
- Connect with key stakeholders to translate business strategy impacting cash processes into clear requests for change
- Ensure process control design and operation is effective through oversight and approval of:
- Balance sheet reconciliations and associated accounting entries
- Control self-assessment and review of evidence
- Cash transactions within delegated authority limits
- Ensure effective internal and external audit processes confirming requirements in advance to Accenture and monitor deliverables to ensure completion within agreed timescales
- Partner with Sainsbury’s Tech to ensure new systems or system changes maintains the integrity of our reconciliations
- Support the business in monitoring and identifying risks and opportunities. Take the lead in prioritising these and work with the business to manage them
- Own the design of management reporting, ensuring it is fit for purpose and streamlined
More about you
- Professionally Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or Qualified By Experience is essential
- Experience of maintaining strong financial controls; good awareness of balance sheet controls and reconciliation processes is essential
- Forecasting and financial modelling experience is essential
- Strong commercial acumen with a clear focus on driving excellent financial and commercial performance
- Effective communicator and challenger with stakeholders up to and including Divisional Director level, including audiences of varying financial and commercial acumen
- Committed to driving change and comfortable with managing any associated conflicts
- Ability to influence third party resources; knowledge and technique into how to deliver business value through a third party and outsourced operations
