What you'll do
As a compliance technologist, you will join our compliance team within Central Technical Operations, the primary responsibility of the role is to drive the consistency and compliance to our technical requirements and KPI’s in a simple way that is built into our governance. The Compliance Technologist works with our Suppliers, Technical Managers and Central Technical team, a role that requires strong communication, sound judgement and ability to influence.
Key tasks include co-ordinating our incident management procedure, completing analysis into potential compliance issues, managing the operations of our audit programme, engaging with suppliers to improve our KPI compliance position and providing excellent expert knowledge and service to both our external partner providers and technical categories. In your role, you will also support the development of our technical documents and effectively manage the engagement ensuring the changes are clearly communicated and embedded. An exciting new addition to the role is supporting the management of our technical training programme giving the opportunity to network with wider industry training organisations.
This role is hybrid working between our new London office, home, Sainsbury’s stores and suppliers.
Who you are
You are a skilled technical professional with a strong background in food technical compliance management and technical expertise within the food industry minimum 2 years. You demonstrate exceptional analytical skills, are a role model for accuracy, you can effectively build relationships, you have the curiosity to explore and drive continuous improvement in all aspects of your work. Due to the diverse nature of this role, you will be highly effective at planning and prioritisation to enable the delivery of technical priorities.
Essential Criteria
- Degree-level qualification in a Science discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of manufacturing and technical standards, including HACCP and BRC.
- Industry Experience: Proven experience in a Food compliance or food technical role, either within the supply base or at a retailer.
