Please note, this role is based out of our London Store Support Centre & Home. Colleagues go into the office 2 days per week on average.

We are currently recruiting for 2 roles within the team; one will focus on Grocery Food and the other on General Merchandise. Working closely with stakeholders across various levels, you will play a crucial role in supporting commercial teams, driving business performance, and making strategic decisions that impact our customers and overall success. What you'll do

You will play a crucial role in providing financial support to the Grocery Commercial Teams, including JS General Merchandising, partnering closely with stakeholders to ensure sound margin management and analytical support for one or more Categories within the Grocery Business Unit. Your responsibilities will include producing insightful analysis to support decision-making, engaging with both Finance and Non-Finance teams, and supporting on finance-led deliverables such as forecasting, budgeting, and trade commentary. Additionally, you will be instrumental in driving business performance through challenging ways of working, identifying risks and opportunities, and simplifying processes to enhance financial and commercial performance within the organisation.

Who you are

You are a dedicated and proactive professional with a strong finance background and a passion for driving financial and commercial performance. Your ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels, analyse data to provide valuable insights, and support business decision-making processes makes you a key asset in partnering with the Commercial Teams to achieve targets and drive business success. With your self-motivation, strong commercial acumen, and focus on continuous improvement, you play a crucial role in challenging ways of working, driving transformation, and maximising business returns on investment.

Essential Criteria

  • Part Qualified / Qualified accountant – CIMA/ACCA/ACA
  • Demonstrable proficiency in Excel and numerical analysis, including the ability to convert data into actionable insights
  • Proven ability to communicate financial information effectively to senior stakeholders, both verbally and in writing
  • Evidence of commercial awareness, with a track record of contributing to financial and business performance
  • Experience in collaborative working, including building trusted relationships across departments or functions
