Joining our team at Sainsbury's as a Programme Manager in the Logistics & Fulfilment division means being at the forefront of major network change projects and automation initiatives that shape our future of our operations. With a focus on delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards, this role offers the opportunity to lead large scale and complex robotics and automation projects in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll do

Here, you will be responsible for overseeing the end to end delivery and integration of major network change projects, including tactical capacity initiatives and automation projects. You will work across internal solution design and construction teams, 3PL partners, and contractors to influence multiple stakeholders and ensure that change programmes are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required standards.

Your role will involve collaborating with stakeholders to create a manageable programme of delivery, managing project plans and budgets, ensuring key projects are delivered on time, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in delivery practises. You will be accountable for maintaining a view of interdependencies across the wider Logistics programme of change, providing guidance and support where necessary, and ensuring compliance with organisational policies, standards, and best practises.

Who you are

We're seeking a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of complex automation and logistics projects within the retail industry. With extensive experience in leading major network change initiatives and overseeing project delivery, you excel in managing multiple stakeholders and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards. Your strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills enable you to foster a culture of continuous improvement, drive innovation, and build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.

Essential

  • Deep understanding of Logistics projects and how they relate to a Retail led business. 
  • Extensive experience with complex robotics or automation project delivery in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Deep understanding of project management methodologies and best practices. 
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen. 
  • Understanding of the broad risks and issues associated with complex automation delivery.
