Why join us Join Sainsbury’s Tech and be part of a cutting-edge team powering one of the UK’s leading multi-brand retailers. As a Technology Manager, you’ll drive transformation across our technology delivery landscape, contributing directly to business strategy and operational excellence. You’ll collaborate with internal teams and strategic partners in a matrix environment, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. This role offers the opportunity to influence stakeholders, enable seamless service delivery, and work with leading technology suppliers.

In a nutshell

You’ll play a key role in our SAP S/4HANA transformation programme, initially focusing on operational readiness and platform enablement. As the programme transitions into business-as-usual (BAU), you will lead the evolution towards an SAP Centre of Excellence model, shaping long-term operations and continuous improvement of SAP usage and adoption across the organisation.

What you’ll do You will collaborate closely with our Systems Integrator partner, SAP, and key stakeholders across Sainsbury’s Technology to lead and support activities including:

· Service transition planning and execution

· Security and access management

· Environment implementation and lifecycle management

· Establishment and oversight of a third-party SaaS DevOps support contract

In this role, you will work alongside Product Managers, fellow Technology Managers and SAP to define the technical vision, usage and direction of our licenced products. You will take end-to-end ownership of multiple deliveries, encompassing change management and service management responsibilities.

Additional responsibilities include:

· Financial management of programme budgets

· Service management of the SAP SaaS solution, including licence oversight

· Vendor relationship management and performance monitoring

This is a high-impact role suited to a technology leader with strong delivery experience, stakeholder engagement skills, and a passion for driving operational excellence in complex enterprise environments.

This role has no current, direct line management responsibilities but will likely manage a small team (as well as matrix manage third party teams) in the medium term.
