Business Area: Nectar Customer Analytics
Job Summary: We're looking for an expert in customer analytics to lead on a new analytical project around the future of Nectar scheme. Working closely with the Analytics Manager and business stakeholders, you’ll develop and deliver impactful insights that drive strategic decision-making. You’ll take ownership of analysis plans, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure projects are completed to a high standard. Your role will involve developing analytical processes, and translating complex data into clear, actionable recommendations. Additionally, you’ll support and develop junior analysts, contributing to the growth and capability of the wider team.
What we are looking for
- Advanced Technical Expertise - Demonstrates best-in-class analytical skills, evaluates new techniques and tools, and drives innovation across analytics teams. Tailors analytical deliveries based on contextual nuance and sensitivities of audience, pre-empting where the insights may generate challenge.
- Strategic Project Leadership - Defines approaches to complex, ambiguous requests, manages large-scale projects with clear plans, and aligns work with business objectives. Designs holistic, effective analytics delivery plans for a given period covering multiple analysts and analytical projects
- Commercial & Stakeholder Awareness - Navigates commercial guidelines confidently, challenges briefs constructively, and builds strong relationships across varying levels of seniority. Quickly assess shifting stakeholder demands & requirements for analytical feasibility. Implement best-practice for ‘saying no’ where necessary
- Insightful Communication & Influence - Tailors analytical discussions to diverse audiences, translates complex methodologies into actionable insights, and influences perception of the analytics function.
- Team Development & Leadership Potential - Supports recruitment, mentors junior analysts, and thoughtfully allocates work to support individual growth and team capability. Explains highly complex analytical methodologies to a range of stakeholders, as well as whilst also evaluating and assess new techniques which could be used across the team
- Proactive Growth & Culture Contribution - Takes ownership of personal development, promotes a positive team culture, and actively contributes to the broader impact and visibility of the analytics team.
What we would like you to have:
- To be an expert user of SQL and ideally Python or equivalent. Previous experience of BI tools (e.g. Tableau or Business Objects) and/or AWS / Snowflake would be advantageous
- Expert user of advanced Excel functionality
- Proactively identifies inefficiencies, challenges existing approaches, and implements improvements within their remit.
- Makes independent, well-informed decisions and takes full accountability for project outcomes without fear of failure.
- Strong stakeholder management
- Effectively allocates analytical work across teams to maximise impact and support development.
Essential Criteria
