Joining our team at Sainsbury's in the role of Stock Compliance and Process Manager offers the opportunity to drive impactful change and innovation across our large scale Logistics and Fulfilment division. You will be a key player in managing our end-to-end stock management, compliance, and strategy across our Non-Food channels and collaborate closely with cross-divisional stakeholders to achieve business objectives and enhance customer service.

This is a field and home based role which will require you to travel across our UK logistics network as and when required.

 

What you'll do

Your responsibilities will include managing stock and shrink KPIs, building collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, developing a robust reporting suite, leading improvement initiatives, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and driving business change activities. You will serve as the subject matter expert for stock / shrink management, providing coaching and training to operational teams, and representing Logistics and Fulfilment in cross-divisional forums.

Your role will involve making critical recommendations to senior management regarding stock / shrink compliance and contributing to the delivery of the stock loss budget. You will lead, engage, and inspire your team to deliver successful results while maintaining a proactive approach to leading change and delivering value.

Who you are

You are an experienced professional with a strong practical knowledge of stock processes and procedures within fast-paced and ever-changing logistics and fulfilment environments. Your exceptional organisational skills, ability to work with large data sets, and talent for conducting analysis and presenting insights enable you to drive strategic initiatives and lead forward-flow and reverse-flow improvement projects. With your strong communication and collaboration skills, coupled with your proactive problem-solving approach and ability to make decisions independently, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance, availability, and cost KPI’s are achieved while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

 

Essential skills needed for the role

  • Proven knowledge of stock processes and procedures within Logistics and Fulfilment environments gained from working experience.
  • Able to demonstrate workable audit and compliance processes within these environments.
  • Accuracy and confidence working with large data sets, conducting analysis, presenting insights and storytelling to large audiences.
  • Effective prioritisation to meet tight deadlines with the ability to make decisions independently.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to leading change and delivering value.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, maintaining working relationships with internal and external stakeholders across a variety of levels with the confidence to challenge and influence.
  • Strong  influencing skills, up to Senior Management level, with the ability to face into difficult conversations, remaining consistent in your message whilst showing sureness in your rationale and direction of travel.
  • Ability to lead, engage and inspire others in order to deliver successful results.
