What you'll do
As the Convenience Range Merchandiser, you will be at the forefront of driving the end-to-end execution of "mission based" ranges, collaborating closely with Range Analysts and Buyers to align with the commercial strategy for the category. Your role will involve leveraging data analysis, market insights, and consumer knowledge to deliver optimal distributions for each ranging activity, while designing and implementing a market-winning trade plan that aligns with the channel's ambition. You will proactively review range performance, identify range opportunities for incremental category spend, and communicate range changes effectively to ensure successful implementation in stores. Additionally, you will consult with the Convenience Central team to propose and evolve ranging and merchandising principles, showcasing your project management skills, ability to manage multiple projects, and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Who you are
You are a skilled professional with a deep understanding of convenience-specific merchandising principles and guidelines, essential for delivering optimal ranging strategies for the rapidly growing Convenience channel. Your ability to analyse data, collaborate with stakeholders, and apply market and consumer knowledge allows you to project manage ranging activities, identify range opportunities, and drive incremental category spend and customer satisfaction. With excellent project management skills, effective communication, and the capacity to make informed decisions in complex situations, you play a pivotal role in implementing market-winning trade plans and ensuring the success of ranging initiatives in alignment with the commercial strategy.
Essential Criteria:
- Strong communication skills, with confidence in presenting objectives and influencing stakeholders at all levels, including Senior Leadership.
- Ability to stand by and advocate for own work, demonstrating resilience and professionalism in challenging discussions.
- Analytical capability, including proficiency with data analysis, Excel, and adaptability to learn new tools such as ranging systems.
- Commercial acumen, with an understanding of how decisions impact profitability and business performance.
- Project management skills, including managing time and resources effectively to deliver ranging projects.
