In a nutshell
The PDC Product Coordinator works as part of a small team who control the receipt, movement and disposal of all products from the smallest piece of jewellery to the largest 4 door wardrobe for all our key stakeholders including the Commercial Buying teams, Photography & Video teams, PR and Marketing etc., ensuring that they are managed and stored appropriately and remain in good condition.
The Co-ordinator is responsible for greeting delivery/collection drivers, assisting with loading/ unloading of vehicles. Booking inbound stock onto our warehouse management system for storage and moving/delivering stock to the relevant location either on site or other specified UK locations.
What you need to do
Receive, book in and label products ready for storage and deliver products to designated areas/locations within agreed timescales. Accuracy and attention to detail is key and careful handling of products is a must.
Ensure that product samples are scanned to appropriate locations when moved.
Coordinate all sample disposal and archive requests and activities.
Establish trusted & collaborative relationships with Suppliers to ensure fast, smooth receipt of sample / product packages. Great communication is key to ensuring the operation runs effectively.
Establish trusted & collaborative relationships with the Commercial buying and technical & ethical teams. These teams will provide details of expected deliveries, communicate when samples / products need to be provided for review purposes and confirm when product can be archived or disposed of. In turn you will provide regular updates on product status and whereabouts.
Complete product assembly of a range of products, mostly flat pack furniture. Ranging for example, from small bedside cabinetry through to large Wardrobes and beds
Take ownership of the tidiness and organisation of the PDC spaces, ensuring you are adhering to
H&S policies at all times and the PDC is neat, tidy and orderly. Flag any H&S concerns/ breaches immediately to your Line Manager or Facilities Management team.
What you need to know and show
Working within a team and sharing responsibilities and tasks to achieve deadlines.
Working in & maintaining high levels of tidiness.
Move and store stock safely and without damage
Load and pack product onto vehicles in a safe way to ensure no injury to yourself or your colleagues and that no damage occurs to the product both through packing process or in transit.
Some previous experience of working within a warehouse environment is desirable.
Desirable to be able to safely drive a Forklift Truck and Manual Stacker Truck (Site specific Training will be provided if required)
Hold a full UK driving licence (desirable up to 3.5tonne vans)
Able to build/ assemble large flat pack products
Proficient use Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel and Word. Sending emails, creating basic spreadsheets
Good knowledge of Health & Safety working practices in a warehouse environment
Take a keen interest in the business performance and key projects/ initiatives that could impact your role · Take responsibility for your own personal development and seek support from your Line Manager when needed
Previous stock management or stock audit experience, including the use of warehouse stock management systems would be desirable
Essential Criteria
- Ability to safely receive, handle, move and store stock, including lifting, loading/unloading vehicles, and transporting products without damage.
- Demonstrable accuracy and attention to detail when booking in, labelling, scanning, and tracking product movement using a warehouse management system and basic Microsoft Office Applications.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and colleagues.
- Consistent adherence to Health & Safety procedures within a warehouse environment, maintaining tidy, organised workspaces and identifying/flagging hazards
