As part of the Dispute Resolution Team, you’ll join a collaborative function that plays a key role in protecting the business, its colleagues, and its reputation. The team provides expert guidance on dispute avoidance, consumer legislation and effective case management across the Sainsbury’s Group.

More about the role

As a Dispute & Litigation Paralegal, you will manage your own varied portfolio of contentious consumer matters, working across all group companies. You’ll investigate allegations, gather and analyse evidence, interview witnesses, draft pleadings, and manage correspondence with opponents. You will also conduct advocacy in the County Court and maintain accurate case management records to support reporting and governance processes.

Beyond day‑to‑day casework, you’ll play a proactive role in helping business units navigate consumer and regulatory requirements. You will advise on dispute avoidance, support our customer contact centres with on‑call guidance, and contribute to the development of strong cross‑functional relationships. You may also work with external bodies such as Citizens Advice, Which?, primary authorities, and external law firms where required.

More about you

You bring experience in civil litigation and have the confidence to manage your own caseload with sound judgement and minimal supervision. You can apply County Court procedural rules effectively and communicate clearly in writing, in person, and in advocacy settings. Your approach combines commercial awareness with a strong customer‑focused mindset, enabling you to deliver outcomes that protect the brand and manage costs responsibly.

You thrive in fast‑paced environments, work effectively under pressure, and make considered decisions based on evidence and business context. You build relationships easily, collaborate with colleagues at all levels, and demonstrate curiosity, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous improvement. You’re open to feedback, willing to try new approaches, and motivated by helping the team deliver industry‑leading standards in dispute resolution.
