What you'll do
As a Finance Analyst in the Argos Supplier Planning team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the strategic partnerships between Argos and its branded suppliers to drive sustainable commercial performance. By leveraging Supplier Planning tools, profitability dashboards, and negotiation frameworks, you will provide accurate and timely analysis to strengthen commercial negotiations and support the development of robust joint business plans. Your insights and financial modelling will enable key stakeholders to make informed decisions, understand category dynamics, evaluate supplier performance, and assess the value derived through funding, investments, and terms. Your ability to collaborate with both Finance and Non-Finance stakeholders, communicate complex analysis clearly, and drive commercial outcomes while upholding strong controls will be instrumental in achieving success in this dynamic retail environment.
Who you are
You are a highly skilled and detail-oriented professional with a background in finance, particularly in large retail businesses. Your ability to provide insightful analysis, develop robust financial models, and support commercial negotiations is essential in driving sustainable commercial performance and making informed financial decisions in a competitive retail environment. With your analytical mindset, problem-solving skills, and strong communication abilities, you play a key role in collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand category dynamics, supplier performance, and the financial impact of commercial decisions, ultimately contributing to the success and growth of the business.
Essential Criteria
- Part-qualified or fully qualified professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA or ACA)
- Demonstrable experience applying commercial finance expertise within a large retail or consumer-facing organisation, including analysis of margin drivers and supplier business models to inform decision-making
- Evidence of producing accurate, timely and insight-led financial analysis to support commercial decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g. Buying, Supplier Planning, Finance or related teams) to understand priorities and contribute to shared outcomes‑functional stakeholders (e.g. Buying, Supply Chain, Category Planning, Technical, Finance or related teams) to understand priorities and contribute to shared outcomes
- Ability to provide clear, structured updates on progress, risks and issues through regular forums such as daily meetings and weekly reporting
