What you'll do
As the Digital Marketing Lead for Marketplace at Sainsbury's, you will be accountable for driving performance marketing initiatives, focusing on paid search, shopping, and app campaigns across various platforms such as Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, SA360, and Apple Search Ads. In addition, you will develop and execute test and learn agendas to optimise performance across bidding, targeting, ad creative, and formats, while managing the paid digital media marketing budget for associated campaigns. Collaborating with internal stakeholders, you will align digital activation with campaigns and commercial goals, forecast performance accurately, and provide a pivotal voice on campaign measurement and performance analysis. Working closely with platform partners and internal teams, you will contribute to the growth and success of the Marketplace and Argos digital propositions through continual optimisation and a test and learn approach.
This role will be a hybrid role with a 70% Paid Search focus & a 30% Paid Social & Display focus.
Who you are
As a Digital Marketing Lead for Sainsbury's Marketplace, you are a seasoned professional with over 4 years of hands-on experience in digital performance marketing, specialising in Paid Search. Your deep expertise in managing large budgets, executing campaigns across multiple platforms, and aligning digital activation with commercial goals allows you to drive impactful strategies and optimise campaign performance. With strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving and innovation, you excel in collaborating cross-functionally, adapting to changing circumstances, and continuously seeking ways to enhance marketing initiatives for sustained growth and success within the retail industry.
Essential criteria
Proven experience in digital performance marketing, with a strong specialism in Paid Search within FMCG.
Hands-on expertise managing and optimising campaigns across platforms including Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, SA360, Apple Search Ads, and paid shopping/app campaigns.
Demonstrable experience managing large paid media budgets with a clear focus on ROI and performance optimisation.
Experience in performance forecasting, measurement, and analysis, with the ability to use data to inform decisions and optimise outcomes.
Experience developing and executing test-and-learn strategies across bidding, targeting, ad creative, and formats.
