About the team 

You’ll join the Argos Commercial & Digital division, supporting high profile categories with significant growth potential. The tech and Apple aligned categories are some of the fastest growing areas in the business, offering strong visibility and the opportunity to influence one of our most strategic brands. 

 

More about the role 

As a Buyer, you’ll execute the category strategy across mobile, computing and other related product areas. You’ll support range architecture, trading decisions, pricing strategy and supplier relationships, ensuring ranges deliver commercial performance and meet customer needs. 

You’ll collaborate with Product Development, Global Sourcing, Merchandising, Marketing and Digital to land commercially strong propositions. You’ll also partner closely with your Senior Buyer and support the Assistant Buyer to deliver trading performance and operational accuracy. 

 

More about you 

You’ll bring commercial awareness and buying experience within General Merchandise, with essential exposure to tech - particularly mobile and computing. Experience working with Apple or major tech brands is highly desirable and will enable you to hit the ground running in a unique, fast paced category. 

You’re comfortable analysing data, making commercial decisions, influencing stakeholders, and working at pace in a changing environment. 

 

Essential criteria 

  • Buying experience in GM and tech (mobile/computing) 
  • Ability to influence supplier relationships 
  • Strong analytical and negotiation capability 
  • Experience supporting/mentoring Assistant Buyers 
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fastmoving retail environment
