About the team
You will join our Technical & Ethical function, working across Home, Seasonal, Furniture, Garden & DIY. The team ensures Argos products are safe, reliable and meet customer expectations. This role strengthens our understanding of product issues by analysing why items are returned and feeding those insights directly into quality improvement.
More about the role
You will lead investigations into product complaints, using returns data, customer feedback and performance trends to identify root causes. You’ll ensure issues are reviewed and resolved quickly and accurately, in line with SLAs, with your findings shaping improvements in product design, manufacturing and quality standards.
You’ll work closely with Product Technologists, the Technical Operations team, Buying teams, Returns Technicians and suppliers/service providers. You’ll assess product failures, test returned items and recommend corrective actions. The role offers variety, hands-on product work and the opportunity to make a clear impact on customer experience.
More about you
You’ll bring strong technical capability and the ability to break down products to understand how they function and fail. Electrical knowledge is particularly valuable, as many investigations relate to electrical, garden and DIY equipment.
You’ll be confident producing clear investigation reports, presenting findings to stakeholders and working collaboratively with suppliers to resolve issues. You enjoy solving problems, identifying trends and improving product outcomes for customers.
Essential criteria
• Technical experience from a retailer, supplier or service provider
• Electrical or engineering product knowledge
• Strong investigation and report‑writing capability
• Effective communication with stakeholders at all levels
