What you'll do
As a Social Planner, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing organic social strategies that align with the broader marketing and communication goals of the business.
Your work will also play an essential role in shaping content that increases the cultural relevance of our brands by tapping into audience insights, platform behaviour and social trends. You will collaborate closely with clients, ensuring open communication and actively educating them, while also collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging across social channels. Additionally, you will conduct audience research using 1st and 3rd party tools to adapt strategies and campaigns in response to changing audience behaviours and marketing objectives. Effective communication, analytical thinking, creativity, and the ability to build and maintain relationships will be crucial for success in this role.

As a Social Planner for Sainsbury's, you are a highly skilled and innovative professional with a deep understanding of social media strategies, social creativity and platform behaviour. With a proven track record in developing and executing organic social campaigns across various channels, you possess the ability to guide creatives and clients to develop engaging and impactful content that aligns with audience behaviour as well as marketing and communications goals. Your expertise in audience research and insights allows you to tailor strategies that reflect audience needs, while your proficiency in understanding and analysing performance enables you to derive data-driven insights, and adapt strategies accordingly. With strong communication and influencing skills, you effectively collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams, building trust and nurturing strong relationships. Your adaptability, analytical thinking, and creativity drive your ability to stay ahead of industry trends and deliver bold and innovative social campaigns that captivate and engage audiences.
Essential criteria
Proven experience developing, implementing and managing organic social media strategies aligned to wider marketing and communications objectives within a creative agency.
Demonstrable experience delivering organic social campaigns across multiple platforms, with a clear understanding of platform behaviour and best practice.
Demonstrable experience using audience insight, cultural trends and social behaviours to shape content and campaign strategy.
Experience conducting audience research using first‑ and third‑party tools, and translating insight into actionable social strategies.
Experience working closely with creative teams to guide the development of engaging, culturally relevant social content.
Experienced in social trends, platforms and industry developments, with the ability to apply them in a commercial context.
