More about the role 

As Transformation Development Manager, you will be responsible for turning high-level strategy into tangible change through expertly crafted programmes. Working at the heart of transformation, you’ll bring together cross-functional teams to take promising ideas from initial concept right through to pilot and early implementation stages. Your role will involve solving complex business problems using structured, outcome-led and hypothesis-driven methodologies, ensuring every initiative is both commercially viable and focused on the needs of customers and colleagues. 

Day-to-day, you’ll set up and run transformation programmes with clarity and pace, ensuring robust end-to-end thinking. You’ll be involved in shaping and driving key projects that contribute to the growth and transformation of Argos, creating practical, ambitious plans that move the business forward. Reporting to senior leaders within Transformation, you’ll work from our Store Support Centre and occasionally from home, enjoying a flexible and collaborative working environment.

To excel in this role, you will need demonstratable expertise in driving strategic transformation using outcome-focused and hypothesis-led approaches. Your ability to create clarity, maintain momentum, and foster effective collaboration across teams will be essential. You will be adept at strategic thinking, with a proven track record of managing complex programmes from inception to implementation. 

We’re seeking someone who takes ownership and demonstrates thought leadership, consistently seeking out opportunities for improvement and innovation. You’ll be resilient and adaptable, thriving in a fast-paced setting with a natural ability to communicate and engage stakeholders at all levels.  Essential Criteria 

  • Demonstrable experience leading cross functional change or transformation programmes from concept through to trial and early implementation, including managing risks, dependencies‑ and business impacts. 
  • Proven ability to apply an outcome focused and ‑hypothesis led approach to define business problems, generate options, and create practical, ‑commercially grounded‑ recommendations. 
  • Evidence of successful programme management and delivery, including establishing clear milestones, maintaining pace, coordinating multiple workstreams, and presenting progress through structured updates or governance forums. 
  • Demonstrable ability to distil complex information into clear, concise and actionable communications, including the creation of business cases, programme narratives or stakeholder updates. 
  • Proven capability to build and manage effective cross business working relationships, collaborating with subject matter experts and central functions to enable delivery and support ‑decision making‑. 
  • Experience of working with stakeholders from across all levels of an organisation right the way through to presenting and driving change at bord level
