We’d all like amazing work to do, and real work–life balance. That’s waiting for you at Sainsbury’s. We’re the first to say we do HR differently here. For a start, we work as business partners and specialists. Whether that’s making sure nearly 150,000 colleagues are paid on time, or shaping a strategy that helps us attract the right people, put them in the right place, and unlock their potential. This is a fast-moving business, and our policies and rewards evolve with it. That’s why we’re as flexible as we can be about where and when you work. We’re also flexible about your future. There’s always room to move up or across, if that’s what you want. We really value different perspectives, so there’s no one opinion, no single path, and yours matters.

Why join us

Joining Sainsbury's as a Learning Designer for face-to-face (F2F) learning offers an exciting opportunity for creative L&D professionals who are passionate about designing high-quality learning experiences. In this role, you will have the chance to collaborate with stakeholders, apply human-centered design principles, and create engaging learning solutions that make a real impact. With a focus on inclusivity, accessibility, and continuous improvement, you will play a key role in shaping the future of learning at Sainsbury's while working in a supportive and innovative environment that values creativity and collaboration.

What you'll do

As a Learning Designer at Sainsbury's, you will be at the forefront of designing and developing engaging face-to-face learning experiences as part of a blended learning approach. Your role will involve utilising human-centered design principles, conducting colleague listening sessions, and collaborating with stakeholders to ideate and produce prototypes that validate the learning architecture. By applying instructional design knowledge across face-to-face and digital learning solutions, you will create inclusive and practical learning materials and activities, ultimately delivering high-quality learner experiences while adhering to project timelines and design processes.

Who you are

Your ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and colleagues, coupled with your commitment to inclusivity and accessibility in design, ensures the delivery of superior learning experiences that drive real-world impact and enhance organisational performance.

  • Proficiency using digital learning tools and formats that support facetoface learning (e.g., presentations, PDFs, elearning, virtual delivery).
  • Demonstrable ability to design learning that meets accessibility and inclusive design standards.
