We are looking for two Finance Managers to join the team: one partnering Argos Technology leadership teams and the other partnering Sainsbury’s Technology leadership teams.

What you'll do
You will play a vital role in providing financial support, challenge, and strategic insight to the senior Sainsbury's/Argos Technology leadership team, ensuring sound financial decision-making in relation to technology investment and BAU spend. You will lead the delivery of key priority projects within the Technology and Finance divisions, collaborating with various stakeholders and adapting to diverse demands across the function. In this project-oriented role, you will serve as a strategic finance business partner to Technology, fostering cross-functional collaboration and building effective relationships with senior stakeholders, while ensuring clear decision-making governance and delivering high-quality management information for Technology stakeholders to enable informed decision-making. You will also be responsible for developing financial models, contributing to corporate planning and budgeting activities, and ensuring compliance with Group accounting policies to maintain governance standards across Tech finance processes.
Who you are
You are a professionally qualified accountant with a strong technical foundation and demonstrated commercial acumen. Your expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, and compliance, combined with advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, enables you to provide strategic financial guidance and support to senior stakeholders, drive improved decision-making through insightful analysis, and ensure robust financial governance across key projects and initiatives. Your ability to build strong cross-functional relationships, deliver high-quality financial insights, and prioritise effectively under pressure makes you a valuable asset in accelerating the achievement of Technology and Finance division objectives.
Essential Criteria
- Professionally qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) with demonstrable application of technical accounting knowledge in a commercial environment
- Proven experience operating within a large, complex organisation, such as FMCG, Food, Retail or Technology, with exposure to scale, pace and cross‑functional ways of working
- Demonstrable advanced Excel and PowerPoint capability, including financial modelling and analysis (e.g. pivot tables, lookups, macros) and the ability to present financial insights clearly to senior stakeholders
- Proven business partnering and stakeholder engagement capability, influencing decision‑making through high‑quality financial analysis and insight
- Evidence of delivering accurate, well‑controlled finance outputs, including effective prioritisation, adherence to governance standards, and delivery of key finance activities to deadlines, including working under pressure
