About the team 

The Argos Propositions team sits within Argos Commercial & Digital and plays a critical role in shaping how Argos delivers value to customers and the business. The team is responsible for developing and enabling the More Argos, More Often strategy, working across GM brands and channels to turn strategic thinking into tangible commercial and customer outcomes. 
 
Recognised internally as a centre of talent, the team offers a highly collaborative environment where strategic rigour, curiosity and delivery discipline come together. More about the role 

As Head of Propositions, you will lead and develop a team of Proposition Planning Managers, taking ownership of the strategy and commercial development of Argos product services and propositions. Working closely with the Argos Commercial senior leadership team, you will define and prioritise a clear pipeline of initiatives that deliver against short-, medium- and long-term commercial ambitions. 

Day to day, this role blends strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. You will frame complex commercial questions, develop hypothesis-led business plans, and translate insight into actionable prioritisation frameworks and delivery roadmaps. You will lead multi-million-pound programmes, shape cross-functional workstreams, and act as a trusted commercial voice across the business—ensuring propositions are delivered right-first-time and generate measurable customer and commercial value.

You bring experience operating in large, multi-channel organisations and are comfortable navigating ambiguity to drive clarity and momentum. You are commercially minded, analytically rigorous and able to connect customer insight, data and strategy to practical execution. 

You are an inclusive and credible leader who builds high-performing teams and effective cross-functional relationships. You influence confidently at senior level, balance competing demands with judgement, and are prepared to make priority calls and challenge where needed to focus effort on the most impactful opportunities. 

 

Essential criteria 

  • Proven experience leading and delivering strategic commercial change within a large, multi-channel organisation 

  • Demonstrable ability to develop and execute hypothesis-led business plans and prioritisation frameworks 

  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing high-performing teams 

  • Demonstrable experience influencing senior stakeholders and delivering outcomes through cross-functional collaboration 

  • Ability to analyse commercial and customer data to generate clear, structured insights that drive decision-making
