We’d all like amazing work to do, and real work/life balance. That’s waiting for you right here. Supply Chain and Logistics is the engine room that gets thousands of products from farms and factories, through the business and to millions of customers every day. We plan around everything from barbecue weekends to Sunday roasts, supporting those who want oven-ready cauliflower cheese and those who prefer to make it from scratch. Insight and data are everything. But so is judgement — when there’s an issue or ambiguity anywhere, we’re often the first to spot it. There’s a big transformation underway. It calls for people who champion change, bring others with them, and collaborate and communicate. Because those people can go a very long way here.

About the team

The Network and Automation team sits at the heart of our Logistics & Fulfilment function, playing a critical role in shaping how we serve millions of customers every day. Working across a complex, multi-channel retail environment, the team is responsible for translating long-term business strategy into practical, deliverable programmes that transform our supply chain network. From automation opportunities to end-to-end network optimisation, the work we do directly supports sustainable growth, improved customer outcomes, and long-term profitability.

More about the role

As Network Strategy Manager, you will take a leading role in designing and shaping our future logistics network. Using long-term forecasts, you will assess current capabilities against future requirements to identify opportunities for optimisation, automation, and improvement. You will develop strategic network solutions and build robust, fully costed business cases that support key investment decisions.

Day to day, you will collaborate with stakeholders across the supply chain including operational leaders, supply chain specialists, and automation experts. You will translate complex data and insights into clear recommendations, develop board-level materials, and ensure key assumptions and decisions are aligned and signed off. The role also involves continuously reviewing network performance and adapting plans in response to changing business needs, ensuring our network remains competitive and future-ready.

More about you

You will bring proven experience of developing strategic programmes aligned to wider business objectives, alongside a solid understanding of end-to-end supply chain and logistics operations. You are comfortable operating at both a strategic and detailed level, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and translate complex challenges into clear, actionable plans.

You will demonstrate the ability to work across a large, multi-disciplined organisation, building effective relationships and influencing stakeholders at all levels. You are confident using data and insights to inform decision-making and have demonstrable experience of developing commercially robust business cases. You will also show curiosity and a continuous improvement mindset, keeping up to date with industry developments and applying new thinking to enhance network performance.

Essential criteria

  • Proven experience of defining and developing strategic logistics programmes
  • Demonstrable knowledge of end-to-end supply chain and logistics operations in a retail or similar environment
  • Experience of applying network modelling concepts at a strategic level to inform decision making
  • Proven ability to develop detailed, financially robust business cases using data and insights
  • Ability to present complex ideas with clarity and impact
  • Demonstrable experience of influencing and collaborating with stakeholders across a complex, multi-functional organisation
