What you'll do

As an Associate Analyst in the Corporate Analytics team at Sainsbury's, you will play a crucial role in driving impact through analytics by deriving insightful findings and contributing to potential recommendations. Your responsibilities will include identifying relevant metrics, analysing trends, and providing contextual insights to support business decisions. You will independently manage analytical projects using diverse datasets, ensuring clarity in briefs and delivering to a defined scope. Utilising your technical proficiency in SQL and Python, you will apply your skills to perform quality checks on standardised code and present findings using appropriate visualisations to stakeholders. Additionally, you will engage with stakeholders, build strong relationships, and adhere to data protection and security policies while recognising data limitations and investigating anomalies to ensure operational awareness and governance.

 

Who you are

As an Associate Analyst in Corporate Analytics at Sainsbury's, you are a proactive and analytical individual with a strong technical proficiency in SQL and ideally Python, along with experience in BI tools such as Tableau and AWS / Snowflake. Your ability to identify relevant metrics, analyse trends, and deliver insightful findings enables you to drive impactful business decisions and enhance operational efficiency. With strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset, you excel in engaging stakeholders, presenting complex insights in a clear and actionable manner, and contributing to cross-functional collaboration to achieve strategic objectives.

 

Essential Criteria

  • Experience using SQL to extract, manipulate and analyse data.
  • Experience analysing data to identify trends, metrics and actionable business insights.
  • Experience creating data visualisations, dashboards or analytical reports and presenting findings to stakeholders.
  • Experience working with relational databases and applying data quality or validation checks.
  • Experience independently managing analytical projects or requests from brief through to delivery, balancing multiple priorities
