What you'll do
You will play a crucial part in supporting the strategic objective of delivering strong and sustained cashflow for the business. Your responsibilities will include creating analytics to identify opportunities within Working Capital, generating periodic project review packs with insightful analysis and commentary, updating financial models to support trade payables forecasting, and providing ad hoc analysis and recommendations for cashflow improvements. Additionally, you will engage and influence stakeholders with external perspectives, cover for the Finance Manager when needed, and contribute to upskilling efforts within the wider finance team to enhance focus on Cash. Your role will involve applying strong financial control, commercial acumen, and communication skills to drive the business towards its cashflow goals.

You are a professionally qualified accountant with a strong track record of financial control and analytical prowess. Excel proficiency, and ability to provide valuable insights through data analysis and reporting are instrumental in supporting the strategic commitment to deliver strong and sustained cash flow for the business. With your commercial acumen, attention to detail, and effective communication skills, you collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to drive informed decision-making and enhance financial performance. Your self-motivation, problem-solving abilities, and commitment to continuous improvement make you a valuable asset in supporting the multi-year project aimed at optimising Working Capital and improving business outcomes.
Essential Criteria
- Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), with an understanding of Working Capital
- Demonstrable experience of using Excel to analyse financial data and produce clear, actionable insights to support decision-making. Power BI and Alteryx experience is desirable
- Evidence of applying commercial and financial understanding to evaluate business performance and support operational or strategic decisions
- Proven ability to maintain robust financial controls, ensuring accuracy, compliance and integrity of financial information
- Ability to communicate financial information effectively to a range of stakeholders and work autonomously to manage priorities and deliver accurate outcomes
