At Sainsbury’s, we want everyone to feel they can bring their true selves to work. Our Colleague Networks ensure genuine representation by highlighting any barriers colleagues face and helping remove them. Formed by those with shared backgrounds, characteristics, life experiences, or interests, they foster connection and insight. All our Networks welcome every colleague, including allies and supporters.

The Proud@Sainsbury’s colleague network aims to create and nurture a workplace where everyone is free to be themselves irrespective of gender identity, gender expression or sexual orientation.

Formed in 2014, our first colleague network brings together LGBT+ colleagues and ‘allies’ – people who may not identify as LGBT+ but who believe that those who do should be free to be themselves and reach their full potential.

What we’re striving for, together

● To raise awareness of our LGBT+ colleagues and communities through our network and events to truly live our vision of being the most inclusive retailer.

● To increase the number of authentic, visible allies in our network.

● To continue to make the biggest and best celebration of LGBT+ history month, so we ensure we understand and respect those who’ve paved the way to equal rights and the countless numbers who were erased or discriminated against because of their identity.
