What you'll do

As an Analytics Engineer at our 150-year-old retail chain, you will play a vital role in our data-driven transformation journey. Your typical day will involve writing efficient SQL queries, drawing out domain models to identify complex data relationships, collaborating with your team to solve challenging problems, fine-tuning queries through pair programming, engaging with stakeholders to understand their needs, and building strong relationships with colleagues by mentoring and sharing knowledge. Working closely with Data Architects, Data Scientists, Product Managers, and Data Engineers, you will use your expertise to deliver robust data products that enable data-informed decision making. Your passion for data, strong analytical skills, SQL proficiency, and adherence to core Software Engineering principles, such as automated testing and Git version control, will contribute to our ongoing success. Additionally, your curiosity, willingness to learn, sense of ownership, and openness to collaboration will drive our culture of innovation. Join us to unlock petabytes of untapped potential and shape the future of retail through data-driven insights.

You thrive in an environment where you can unleash your creativity and problem-solving skills to unlock the untapped potential of petabytes of data. With your expertise in SQL and core Software Engineering principles, you excel at writing complex queries, building robust data products, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Your affinity for organisation, love for learning, and ability to take ownership of your work make you a valuable asset in leveraging data to drive innovative solutions and deliver exceptional experiences for both colleagues and customers.

We also recognise and celebrate colleagues when they go the extra mile and, where possible, offer flexible working. When you join our team, we’ll also offer you an amazing range of benefits. Here are some of them:

You'll also be able to share in our success as you may be eligible for a performance-related bonus of up to 10% of salary, depending on how we perform.

We also offer other benefits that will help your money go further such as season ticket loans, cycle to work scheme, health cash plans, pay advance (where you can access some of your pay before pay day) as well access to a great range of discounts from hundreds of other retailers. And if you ever need it there is also an employee assistance programme.

Moments that matter are as important to us as they are to you which is why we give up to 26 weeks’ pay for maternity or adoption leave and up to 4 weeks’ pay for paternity leave.
