Job Description

Guaranteed hours and overtime. What more could you want?

How about a focus on quality, not quantity? The sign of success delivering for Argos is satisfied customers, so we focus on delivering responsibly, as well as on time and to the right address. It makes for a more personal, friendly experience for our drivers – and you’ll be our frontline in ensuring the entire operation is working with the customer in mind.

There have been some really exciting things going on behind the scenes here. Argos now combines an online ordering and home delivery model to rival the biggest competitors with handy collection points in Sainsbury’s stores, too.

We’re now opening a number of new Argos Local Fulfilment Centres (LFCs) nationwide to ensure that customers receive their orders when and how they prefer. But what does this mean for you?

It means we can offer you full-time, part-time and flexible hours plus overtime if you want it - this is a job which could really work around you as long as you’re happy to deliver to our customers.

What you’ll do

You’ll load your own van — with help from the warehouse team. Then you’ll deliver up to 25 drops in a shift with an ePod to guide you. You will need to drive safely and follow our guidelines of course. That said, you’ll put the customer first and deliver smiles as well as packages. We’ll only be a phone call away if you need us while you’re out on the road.

What you’ll need

You have to be over 18 and have held a full UK/EU manual driving license for at least 12 months and with no more than 6 points on it.

What’s in it for you?

You’ll really benefit from the supportive, family feel and a helpful management team. What’s more, as you’ll be part of a Sainsbury’s-owned multi-brand retailer, there are many ways you could develop your career across different parts of the business.

Our colleagues love the free, secure onsite parking and free tea and coffee on site. Plus you’ll get a new Sprinter van for your shifts, and we’ll sort the insurance and fuel.

Alongside this, we also offer a great range of benefits for all our colleagues, including:

  • Discount card (after 12 weeks) for you and a second user that gives you 15% off your Sainsbury’s shopping for five days every pay day, and 10% off at Sainsbury’s, Argos and Habitat throughout the year.
  • Generous holiday entitlement, maternity and paternity leave.
  • Pension – we’ll match 4-7% of your pension contributions.
  • Sainsbury’s share scheme – build up an investment at discounted rates
  • Wellbeing support – access to emotional support, counselling, legal and financial advice
  • Colleague networks – link with like-minded people to help fulfil your potential.
  • Our Cycle to Work scheme gives you the opportunity to hire a new bike and cycling equipment, whilst saving on tax and NI.
  • Special offers on gym memberships, restaurants, holidays, retail vouchers and more.
