Job Description

We’d all like amazing work to do, and real work-life balance. That’s waiting for you at Sainsbury’s. We’re one of the biggest supermarkets in the UK with one of the largest websites. So marketing here really happens at scale. We move a lot faster than you’d think too, across Brand Planning, Brand Comms and Creative, Digital Marketing, CRM and Loyalty, Nectar 360, Insights, and Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability. More people shopping with us each week means more interactions. And thanks to data insight, we understand customers in a way that almost nobody else does. We work alongside incredible brand partners and the best agencies around. So if you have a passion to learn, grow and experience new teams, come and explore it all with us.

Are you a visionary in the realm of photography and eager to lead a dynamic team towards creative excellence? Join us at Sainsburys Zest Creative Agency, where your passion for photography and innovation can flourish. As our Lead Photographer, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting our Creative Manager of Photography/Retouch and the photography team, in delivering top-tier content that sets the standard in our industry.

Please note: this role is based within our General Merchandise and Food Studio in Milton Keynes, and whilst Fashion portfolios will be considered, experience and portfolio of interiors, lifestyles and food is desirable.

What You'll Do

Leadership and Collaboration: Work closely with the Manager of Photography and Retouch to provide leadership, inspire creativity, and contribute to decision-making processes. Collaborate with the team, stakeholders and clients, to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) project deadlines and creative excellence.

Team Development: Foster a culture of growth, professionalism, and collaboration, within the photography team. Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior photographers, empowering them to reach their full potential, and support development with the other photographers and wider teams.

Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the studio. Provide valuable training, experiment with innovative content, and stay abreast of industry trends to ensure our studio remains at the forefront of creativity.

Production: Working closely with stakeholders, clients and our studio floor teams, you will shoot Marketing , Campaign and PR photography, both within the studio and on location, this may require travel and time away. On occasions you may be required to support in covering our PDP content within the studio, if there is last minute photographer absence or testing for projects/guidelines is required. There will be around a 75/25% split between content/studio growth, team responsibilities and admin (75%) to shooting (25%)

Who You Are

Experienced Professional: You are a highly skilled professional photographer with advanced technical understanding and a proven track record of delivering exceptional content, evidenced within a portfolio of own work. You are proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite, Capture One, Microsoft Office, and using Studio flash equipment.

Natural Leader: You possess strong leadership abilities and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Your ability to inspire and develop individuals within the team sets you apart.

Detail-Oriented: Your keen eye for detail, technical photography skills, and commercial awareness enable you to maintain high standards of work while managing team/own workload and creative briefs. You are accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment and understand photo studio KPIs and key deliverables.

Collaborative: You excel in providing continuous feedback, testing innovative content, and collaborating effectively with team members and stakeholders to achieve goals.

If you're ready to seize this exciting opportunity and contribute to the success of our studio, we encourage you to apply now. Join us at Zest Studio, where creativity meets excellence, and together, we'll shape the future of photography.

Around here, there’s always the chance to try something new - whether that’s as part of an evolving team or somewhere else across the business - and we take development seriously and promise to support you. We also recognise and celebrate colleagues when they go the extra mile and, where possible, offer flexible working. When you join our team, we’ll also offer you an amazing range of benefits. Here are some of them:

Starting off with colleague discount, you'll be able to get 10% off at Sainsbury's, Argos, TU and Habitat after 4 weeks. This increases to 15% off at Sainsbury’s every Friday and Saturday and 15% off at Argos every pay day. We've also got you covered for your future with our pensions scheme and life cover. You'll also be able to share in our success as you may be eligible for a performance-related bonus of up to 5% of salary, depending on how we perform.

Your wellbeing is important to us too. You'll receive an annual holiday allowance, and you can buy additional holiday. We also offer other benefits that will help your money go further such as season ticket loans, cycle to work scheme, health cash plans, pay advance (where you can access some of your pay before pay day) as well access to a great range of discounts from hundreds of other retailers. And if you ever need it there is also an employee assistance programme.

Moments that matter are as important to us as they are to you which is why we give up to 26 weeks’ pay for maternity or adoption leave and up to 4 weeks’ pay for paternity leave.

Please see www.sainsburys.jobs for a range of our benefits (note, length of service and eligibility criteria may apply).
