What you'll do:

Our SAM Manager acts as a focal SME, providing SAM insights, develop strong relationship key stakeholders and working together with Tech, Procurement, and other key stakeholders across the business.

You are accountable for proactively managing, implementing, enforcing the SAM strategy, responsible for the day-to-day management, setting flexible goals for the SAM team, ensuring all SAM activities (acquisition to disposal) are effectively managed and service requests are within SLA’s. You will define, own, and create Software Asset Management policies and procedures across the Sainsburys group, improving governance controls and assurance of software assets and licence compliance, develop and continuously innovate to improve the SAM discipline, defining key performance indicators to drive value, cost optimisation, and create financial & audit risk management reports.

Working closely with Product & Engineering to ensure SAM toolset(s) are continually managed, you will contribute to the strategic roadmap, supporting the need for new capabilities or enhancements, and manage partners and supplier relationships, delivering the service elements of asset management including software renewals, being a strong communicator to all level of leadership on processes changes, providing licensing advisor services, and offering recommendations on potential asset risks.

 

What you need to know and show:

  • 3-5+years of experience, high-level proficiency, and knowledge of Software Asset Management.
  • In depth knowledge and experience of software licensing models across large software vendors including Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, etc.
  • Strong understanding of ISO/IEC 19770, ISO 27001, ITIL and industry standards.
  • Proven ability to understand license models & terms to create effective licensing positions.
  • Experience in analysing and solving problems, understands technical/architectural designs and able to provide advice and guidance on licensing models.
  • Ability to work under own initiative, able to seek advice and support when required.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, able to motivate, influence & drive change, resilience, and ability to manage conflicts.
  • Line management experience.
