Location - Hybrid Working with Manchester or Holborn as base location and office working 2 days per week


Duration - 12 -18 month Fixed Term Cover (duration dependent on family leave)


Please, note due to the nature of this role you must have experience within Financial Services Marketing (ideally Payments)


In a nutshell

In this role, you’ll be responsible for leading your team to successfully drive awareness, consideration and conversion for Payment options, in Argos campaigns and channels. 

Working with teams across the wider business, you’ll collaborate to deliver our strategic objectives. With an in depth understanding of customer and trading priorities, you’ll help shape the Payments commercial plan, defining marketing activity and content strategy across products and journeys. Through building and maintaining a network of internal and external stakeholders, you’ll work with Argos channel and campaign owners, to create compelling and effective content which promotes payment options that best meet the needs of the Argos Customer base.  

Payment options play a key role in supporting the generation of incremental sales for the group, and this role is critical to driving awareness and conversion, supporting our both the business and our customers by surfacing clear and engaging promotions about options to spread the cost of purchases across our GM brands. 

Key to this role is an ability to understand and navigate competing priorities, motivating your team to deliver through others.


What you need to do

  • Develop and maintain a matrix of stakeholder relationships across internal and external teams, creating a framework to effectively manage all Payments promotional activity in Argos channels
  • Integrate into cross functional planning processes to develop a deep understanding of customer and trading plans and priorities, leading on how priorities can be supported through the promotion of options to spread the cost of purchases
  • Work alongside the Payments team to understand the strategic and commercial objectives that your content will support
  • Lead the Argos Channels Marketing team, creating objectives and clear accountabilities, whilst supporting them with direction and challenge in all aspects of content development and execution through Argos campaigns and events. 
  • Act as the SME for AFS in Argos Channels, providing guidance to Marketing and EComm teams across the wider business, to support the delivery of integrated Financial Promotions 
  • Guide the team to create compelling, responsive, and brand aligned content 
  • Define and implement a suite of performance reporting for Payments promotions in Argos channels 
  • Manage stakeholder relationships to maintain effective content execution processes. Mitigate the risk of deploying Financial Promotions through Argos campaigns, ensuring all activity is delivered within the risk framework for AFS Campaign Execution. Identify improvements which would improve regulatory compliance, working to avoid unnecessary barriers to execution


What you need to know and show

  • Ability to develop and manage a matrix of stakeholder relationships
  • Experience of engaging and collaborating with teams across a wide range of business areas
  • Excellent planning skills and experience of managing multi-channel, multi product content execution
  • Great communication skills 
  • The ability to translate sometimes complex product propositions and promotional guardrails, into simple, and compelling guidance for cross functional teams
  • Proven ability to manage Financial Promotions content execution risk, particularly where delivered in a retail environment
  • Experience in Retail and POS Finance Marketing 
  • Experience in managing people – you’ll be leading and motivating a team to deliver against personal and commercial objectives
  • Ability to structure own and team’s time to prioritise resource as needed
  • Proven ability to develop compelling content with strong creative assessment skills
