Job Description


The Senior Strategy Executive will be responsible for creating integrated campaigns on behalf of some of the biggest brands in the world. They are expected to present their proposals at meetings with FMCG clients and Sainsbury’s trading teams.
They are responsible for interpreting and exploring client briefs, creating media strategies and ensuring timely delivery. Central to the creation of effective media strategies is the understanding of shopper behaviour and decision making; the ability to derive meaningful insights through customer data (Self Serve) is essential. The Senior Strategy Executive will also work closely with the Data Strategists to develop data strategies for targeted media.

What you will be doing:

• Integrated planning for our clients with support from the Lead Planner and relevant Data Strategist
• Applying problem solving and strategic thinking to deliver innovative, insight-led campaign solutions across the portfolio of targeted and store media channels
• Immersing yourself in the clients’ brands, their categories and customer insights; becoming a specialist who is seen as an extension to their internal teams
• Interpreting the clients’ briefs brilliantly and creating compelling campaign proposals using relevant insights to drive overall campaign strategy
• Creating bespoke campaign strategies based on client objectives, insights and an understanding of Sainsbury’s corporate and category strategies
• Working closely with the relevant Data Strategist to create basic and intermediate data strategies, as well as supporting the Data Strategist with more complicated data strategies
• Pulling on the experience of the Lead Planner and Data Strategist to create robust test and learn strategies for each campaign, then using these results to amend and enhance future campaign proposals
• Ensuring that accurate and appropriate measurement and evaluation of all communications activity is achieved for clients
• Supporting other key projects aligned to our wider business/team priorities

Ideally we’d like you to have:

• Education to degree level or above
• Experience in integrated campaign planning
• Strong client liaison skills, i.e. an ability to work collaboratively and in partnership to deliver high quality, data-driven solutions
• Evidence of commercial prowess in past roles
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Energy, self-motivation and drive
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
