Marketing and Communications

Join us in one of our Marketing and Communications teams, and you could be doing anything from creating targeted TV, online and radio campaigns, to launching instore events. Show us you’re hungry to impress a nation of shoppers, and we’ll give you every opportunity to create your own success.

In Marketing and Communications, you’re bringing our brand to life and representing our business, which means you’re standing up for doing the right thing. And that means whether you’re creating outstanding campaigns, or overseeing our communications, you’ll be helping our customers and colleagues live easier, healthier, happier lives.

Marketing

Marketing has the hugely important job of looking after our relationship with Sainsbury’s shoppers. Here, it’s up to several teams to drive demand by showcasing our brand, our products and services – all with the aim of helping people ‘Live Well For Less’.

Within Insight, our colleagues are discovering what our customers are thinking and doing (and how they’re living) so we know them better than anyone else, and our loyalty rewards scheme Nectar has a big part to play in that. While in our Planning team, they’re creating the market-leading activities that really get us noticed.

Our Communications and Design team is transforming these propositions into living, breathing campaigns. All the while, our Social Media team is tirelessly talking to our customers, creating those meaningful conversations that enhance the overall experience of shopping with us.

External Communications

Being creative, thinking big and telling great stories about what Sainsbury’s is doing and why – there’s a new and exciting challenge every day in the External Comms team. Working closely with our senior management team, they’re on the front line, protecting and promoting our brand. From launching new products across multiple categories including food & drink, fashion, beauty and home to hosting media events, to communicating progress against our strategy and values, it’s all about amplifying our messages to media, influencers and stakeholders at every opportunity.

Alongside them, our Public Affairs team nurtures the relationships we have with a wide range of public stakeholders across both the UK and Brussels. And our Corporate Responsibility team is working hard to bring our values to life through a series of great community activities and food donation partnerships. What’s more, they raise awareness around the important work we’re doing with salt and sugar in foods, our carbon footprint, data protection, and partnerships with farmers and local communities.

Internal Communications

It’s up to this team to create excitement and optimism for the future of the Sainsbury’s Group, helping to build trust and advocacy among our colleagues. By designing and implementing brilliant internal communication plans, they’re making Sainsbury’s a great place to work by informing, involving and inspiring our colleagues.
